So, I have been hooked on this show called “Downtown Abbey” which is a 1900s British drama, and I have become fascinated by their way of living, specially their tea time.
Naturally, I love their accent, and the proper English phrases they use, but I cannot just start imitating the accent, I have to start with the tea….
As luck would have it I found these British pastries called ‘Crumpets’ at Trader Joe’s, and to my delight, they are delicious for breakfast or tea time I suppose…
This is the way I prepare them if you would like to give them a try:
- Toast the crumpet in a sandwich press or toaster
- Dribble some honey
- Add fruit. I like to add blueberries, either whole or smashed, on top of the crumpet.
- Enjoy!
Now for the tea, I need to do some more research, I would like to do it with loose-leaf in a kettle, so there will be a part 2 of this post.
